—What Is The Iron Duck Relay

The Iron Duck Relay is a short recreational 14 mile multi-sport relay race. This relay is made up of seven legs each a different sport which are in order; Road Run, Road Bike, Kayak/Canoe, Mountain Bike/Cyclocross, Trail Run, Stand-Up-Paddle board and a Disk Golf sprint.

Team Divisions

The Iron Duck Relay divisions are a little different than some other races, so please review them carefully.

Open Womens, Mens or Mixed. Ages 14+
The Iron Duck Greeks Teams can be from a single Sorority/Fraternity House or multiple Houses.
Iron Duck Adolescents All members must have or be attending high school in 2019. Ages 14+
The Iron Duck Solo Mens and womens individuals who will go the full course as a solo participant.
The Iron Duck Masters Womens, Mens or Mixed. Ages 60+
Open Unlimited Any mix of women or men. This division is a wide open non-competive have fun category. See Note Below
The Iron Duck Kids All team members 13 years of age or under.
The Iron Duck Family All team members are related.

Open Team Unlimited allows for the use of Tandem Bikes, 2 Person Canoes, 2 Person SUPs, wheelchairs, roller skates, circus tricycles, innertubes, etc. An Open Unlimited Team can have up to ten team members.

Gender Categories

Mixed Any combination of males or females.
Womens All team members are female.
Mens All team members are male.

We get it! Not everyone has a kayak, or SUP laying around. Or you have those but the only bike you still own is that banana seat bike you got for your eigth birthday. Well we have you covered! Thanks to our partners we have some gear rental options for you.

All The Iron Duck Relay Paperwork

You will find links below to view and/or download the various liability waiver forms, race guides as well as course maps.

The Iron Duck Relay will be a sanctioned and insured event of the USA Triathlon Association. As part of the insurance provider's requirements, all Iron Duck Relay participants will be required to sign the attached release (minors will require the signature of parent or guardian) and become one day members of the USAT (if not already a member). There will be no additional fee for this one day membership. USAT one day (not annual) membership fees will be covered by the Iron Duck Relay as part of the overall event entry fee. Please bring these completed and signed documents with you on race day, or be prepared to complete and sign them then and there as a condition of participation in the Iron Duck Relay.
